From financial resources and transportation to emotional support, there are a plethora of northern Nevada cancer organizations and cancer support communities offering help. Sierra Nevada Cancer Center has compiled a list to help our patients and their families find the resources they need.
At Sierra Nevada Cancer Center, providing our patients with full-service cancer support means offering all the cancer patient resources we can to help them on their cancer journey.
In addition to prescribed treatments and therapies offered by Dr. Perez and SNCC, we have researched cancer organizations – both those located in northern Nevada and national organizations with a presence in the area – cancer foundations and cancer services that provide a service that may benefit our patients and their families.
We recognize that there are valuable cancer patient resources which we do not offer directly at SNCC. Our Local Support Group page provides information about the various groups in the cancer support community, including their meeting times, meeting place and phone number. We do our best to keep these pages current, but if you are aware of changes to support community information, please let us know.
Our Cancer Organizations page offers links to local and national organizations that provide a wide range of cancer help to patients and their families for a wide range of cancers. You will find links to organizations offering educational resources like the American Cancer Society, Nevada Cancer Coalition and the National Cancer Institute.
You will also find resources for cancer financial aid, like the Cancer Financial Assistance Coalition, South Lake Tahoe Cancer League and the Chronic Disease Fund, as well as for cancer fundraising and research, like the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
You can help us help the cancer community by sharing information about local organizations that support cancer patients and their caregivers. We will add the information to our website.
